Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented entry level associate attorney to join our legal team. Willing to train the right person to assist with criminal defense, personal injury and traffic related cases. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of legal practice areas, including criminal defense, personal injury and traffic law.

As an Associate Attorney, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive legal support, conducting in-depth research using tools like Westlaw, drafting legal documents, and assisting with client consultations. This position is ideal for a motivated legal professional eager to develop expertise across multiple disciplines while contributing to impactful cases and initiatives.

Duties

  • Attending hearings for traffic and class c misdemeanor related cases.
  • Attending hearings for felony and misdemeanor cases.
  • Conducting trials for class c misdemeanor cases involving traffic related offenses, assaults, public intoxication, theft and various other offenses classified as class c misdemeanors.
  • Assist in managing criminal cases from inception through resolution by coordinating discovery, preparing for hearings, and supporting trial preparation.
  • Provide direct support on municipal and justice of the peace related hearings including attending hearings both by zoom and in person.
  • Support office law projects by analyzing current work flows assigned to individual cases and assisting with improving current workflows, internal procedures and participating in staff meetings.
  • Engage in negotiations with clients or prosecutors to facilitate favorable resolutions while maintaining professionalism and clarity.
  • Conduct client interviews and gather pertinent information related to criminal law cases.
  • Maintain accurate records of all case activities and ensure compliance with legal administrative procedures.

Experience

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • Prior experience working in a law office environment or legal research setting is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear, concise legal documents and correspondence.
  • Experience handling multiple practice areas including criminal defense, traffic ticket defense and personal injury is desirable.
  • Excellent negotiation skills coupled with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
