We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Associate Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about advocating for injured individuals and tenants, including those from low-income and underserved communities. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level attorney looking to grow their litigation skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle personal injury and habitability cases from intake through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to written discovery, reviewing evidence, and preparing discovery-related motions.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Communicate with clients to provide case updates, legal advice, and manage expectations throughout the litigation process.
- Appear at hearings, mediations, and case management conferences as needed.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and legal arguments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant law and legal precedents.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
- 2-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury, habitability, or related civil litigation.
- Experience managing cases through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Confidence in communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
