Position Overview:
Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, an AV-rated law firm, is seeking motivated Associate Attorneys to join our civil defense litigation practice. Primary Responsibilities:
As an Associate Attorney with our firm, you will engage in all aspects of civil defense litigation. Your role will encompass managing the discovery process, including drafting responses, reviewing opposing counsel's requests, and ensuring timely compliance with all discovery obligations. You will be responsible for preparing persuasive motions and well-researched legal memoranda that advance our clients' positions. Conducting thorough background investigations will be essential to building comprehensive case strategies. You will coordinate meetings and communications among clients, co-counsel, and expert witnesses, ensuring effective case management and collaboration. Your work will involve performing sophisticated legal research to support case theory development and litigation strategy. Reviewing and analyzing medical records and other technical documentation will be a regular component of your practice. Additionally, you will prepare detailed case analyses and status reports that keep clients informed and engaged in their legal matters.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have between zero and two years of experience in civil litigation defense work. Active membership in the Missouri Bar is mandatory for this position. While Illinois Bar admission is preferred and will enhance your candidacy, it is not an absolute requirement. We seek attorneys who demonstrate strong legal writing abilities and can articulate complex legal arguments both in writing and orally. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be interacting regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts. The ideal candidate is a self-directed professional who can take initiative on assignments and follow through to successful completion. You must be capable of managing multiple competing deadlines and prioritizing a varied caseload effectively.
