Full Job Description

Kang Law, PC is a Southern California-based law firm focusing on personal injury and civil litigation matters. We are seeking a California-licensed Associate Attorney to join our growing team in an in-person capacity. This role is ideal for an early-career attorney seeking practical litigation experience and professional growth under the mentorship of the firm’s managing attorney.

We are a firm that advocates fiercely for our clients. The right candidate will be eager to learn, highly organized, and genuinely interested in the California civil court system and personal injury litigation.

Required Qualifications

  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar (or pending admission for recent bar passers)
  • Strong legal research and writing skills in English
  • Detail-oriented and capable of handling complex fact patterns
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
  • Working knowledge of California civil litigation procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with Clio preferred
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability

Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda related to personal injury, elder abuse, negligence, and medical malpractice
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery in compliance with California Rules of Court
  • Review, analyze, and summarize medical and facility records
  • Prepare and respond to discovery, including meet-and-confer correspondence
  • Assist with depositions, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
  • Appear in court for status conferences, hearings, and motion practice as appropriate
  • Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Prepare client correspondence, declarations, and legal forms
  • Maintain organized and accurate case files within the firm’s case management system
  • Actively manage multiple cases and follow up on outstanding matters
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff in-office
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all ethical obligations under California law
