Associate Attorney - Insurance Coverage

The Role

This position is focused on first-party coverage work — including examinations under oath, insurance fraud investigation, and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage arbitrations. The associate will also assist with third-party defense matters, such as premises liability cases, as needed. This is an ideal opportunity for an attorney with solid coverage experience who wants more responsibility, strong mentorship, and a steady pipeline of meaningful work.

Key Responsibilities

● Handle first-party coverage matters, including insurance fraud investigations, declaratory relief actions, and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage arbitrations

● Conduct examinations under oath and depositions — must have real experience here

● Draft coverage opinions

● Manage a caseload of first-party and select third-party files

● Collaborate closely with claims professionals and internal litigation teams

● Assist with premises liability and general defense matters when needed

Qualifications

● J.D. from an accredited law school

● 4-6 years of experience in insurance coverage or insurance defense

● Licensed and in good standing to practice law in California

● Must have taken depositions and/or examinations under oath

● Strong writing and analytical skills

● Ability to manage files independently while remaining team-oriented

Pay: $125,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year

Experience:

• insurance coverage litigation: 5 years (Preferred)
• insurance defense litigation: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• California bar license that is active and in good standing? (Required)
