KWA is looking for a highly motivated associate attorney to represent our Firm's practice in Wisconsin. The ideal candidate enjoys the idea of being a solo practitioner while having the full support of a well-established Firm. The attorney would be responsible for taking on an existing book of business for national creditors throughout Wisconsin while also working to bring on new clients. Base salary is 60k-80k plus earn commission from any new business you bring in while also earning a quarterly incentive based on office performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handle consumer debt collection caseload for national creditors throughout Wisconsin.
  • Review, and approval of all pleadings, motions, and executions.
  • Handling a caseload in collections, foreclosure, and bankruptcy.
  • Attend all court matters.
  • Marketing within the State to grow business.
  • Assist with client audits and attend professional conferences.
  • Manage the Brookfield, WI, with the full support of Firms processes and resources.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Law degree.
  • Experience: 2+ years' experience in law is preferred. Experience should be in consumer and commercial debt collection with extensive experience with the FDCPA and understanding compliance regulations promulgated by the CFPB and OCC. Knowledge and experience in residential foreclosure is a plus but not required.
  • A law license in Wisconsin is required. A dual law license in Wisconsin and Ohio is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication, written, oral, and listening skills. Detail-oriented and a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Must be highly organized, self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, and display an attitude that no task is too small to get the job done and serve the client.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, BKFS, and Tempo a plus.
  • Travel: Frequent
