Overview:

Job Purpose

The Associate Counsel position will be responsible for assisting the ICE Clear Credit General Counsel with legal and regulatory matters such as corporate governance, maintenance of rules, policies and procedures, communication with Clearing Participants and filings with regulators. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Conscientious organizational skills and careful attention to detail are essential. A proactive approach to new projects and reliable performance of ongoing responsibilities will be required.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation, coordination and organization of materials for corporate governance (quarterly Board and monthly committee meetings), coordinate meetings and draft minutes, as appropriate;
  • Assist with preparation, drafting, organization, filing and posting of notifications to CFTC, SEC and other regulators, as appropriate;
  • Assist with maintenance and control of corporate rules, policies & procedures;
  • Assist with tracking of regulatory and corporate governance commitments;
  • Prepare confidential weekly reports for distribution to Clearing Participants;
  • Assist with negotiation of new corporate contracts and maintain database of all existing corporate contracts;
  • Assist with monitoring industry regulatory developments;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, JD and Bar Admission;
  • 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Work experience with clearing house, exchange, brokerage, regulatory agency, bank or other financial services company or law firm preferred;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills;
  • Self-motivated with ability to multi-task and work independently with confidential and sensitive information;
  • Swaps, futures or derivatives experience a plus.

Illinois Base Salary Range

The expected base salary for this role, if located in Illinois, is between $87,600 - 122,600 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
