About Our Practice

enlightenDENTAL is not your typical dental office. We are a biological, patient-centered practice in New Orleans, LA committed to whole-body wellness. We combine advanced technology with a deep respect for natural, minimally invasive approaches to dentistry. Our treatments are guided by science, holistic philosophy, and compassion-focusing on preserving teeth, restoring health, and empowering patients to take control of their oral and systemic health.

We are a close-knit, growth-focused team that values collaboration, continuing education, and creating a calm, supportive environment for both patients and staff. Every team member plays a role in delivering exceptional care, building trust, and maintaining the integrity of our unique mission.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Associate Dentist who aligns with holistic and biological dental principles. The right candidate will:

  • Deliver exceptional patient care while upholding our biological protocols (safe mercury removal, airway-focused dentistry, biocompatible materials, minimally invasive techniques).
  • Communicate with empathy and clarity, ensuring patients understand their treatment options and feel fully supported in their health journey.
  • Collaborate closely with the entire team in a high-engagement environment that includes regular team meetings, training, and patient education initiatives.

This is an opportunity to practice dentistry in a way that honors the body’s natural healing abilities and builds deep, long-term patient relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Perform comprehensive examinations with an integrative health focus, considering systemic health, airway, nutrition, and oral function.
  • Provide restorative, surgical, and preventive care using biocompatible materials and techniques.
  • Support safe amalgam removal following SMART protocols.
  • Use advanced technology (CBCT, ozone, PRF, laser, etc.) for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Preserve teeth whenever possible, offering alternatives to extractions and root canals when clinically appropriate.

Patient Communication

  • Explain treatment options in clear, non-technical language and with visual aids when possible.
  • Build rapport by reading patient cues (verbal and nonverbal) and adjusting approach accordingly.
  • Ensure patients leave each visit feeling informed, cared for, and respected.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with assistants, hygienists, and administrative team members to deliver seamless care.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly and quarterly team meetings, CE workshops, and case reviews.
  • Contribute to our educational outreach and patient experience initiatives.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited U.S. dental school
  • Active dental license in Louisiana (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred (open to exceptional new grads with strong alignment to our philosophy)
  • Familiarity with and passion for biological dentistry principles and protocols
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and continuing education in holistic care
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail and a patient-first mindset

Preferred Skills (not required but a plus)

  • Training in or familiarity with myofunctional therapy, airway-focused dentistry, ozone therapy, or laser dentistry
  • Experience with digital dentistry and CBCT interpretation
  • Background in nutritional counseling or functional medicine concepts
  • Certification or interest in SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique)

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation with production-based incentives
  • Continuing education allowance specifically for biological/holistic dentistry training
  • Supportive, low-stress environment with a cohesive team
  • Opportunity to grow into leadership or specialized roles
  • Fully equipped, modern practice with advanced technology
  • Meaningful patient relationships and cases that make a difference in overall health
