What the day will look like
Aon Re, Inc. seeks an Associate Director in Miami, Florida to provide civil engineering modeling and risk analysis. Provide catastrophe modeling support and analysis for risk assessment and risk management consulting services. Manage relationships with stakeholders including catastrophe modelers, brokers, actuaries, and external clients and reinsurers. Direct report building including EP summaries, modeling books, pricing, and economic analyses. Implement catastrophe modeling analytics. Oversee cost allocation technologies. Align on cost-benefit analysis for global projects. Prepare property insurance policy data for catastrophe risk analysis using SQL and data conversion tools. Utilize catastrophe modeling software for portfolio analyses. Develop analytical tools and models. Apply civil engineering knowledge and expertise to design catastrophe reinsurance programs. Respond to brokers, customers, and reinsurers on issues and questions relating to risk analysis for natural and man-made catastrophes. Provide real-time loss estimates of actual catastrophic events. Prepare and send catastrophe risk assessment data to reinsurers and participate in reinsurance market calls. Apply knowledge of catastrophe modeling methods and processes to assist customers in the understanding of catastrophe risks, sensitivity studies, and added analytics based on catastrophe model results. Manage direct reports. Local telecommuting up to 3 days a week. Annual Salary: $112,549 - $146,100.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field plus three years of civil engineering modeling and risk analysis experience. Must have at least three years of experience in each of the following: 1. Providing catastrophe modeling support and analysis for risk assessment and risk management consulting services; 2. Implementing catastrophe modeling analytics; 3. Preparing property insurance policy data for catastrophe risk analysis using SQL and data conversion tools; 4. Utilizing catastrophe modeling software for portfolio analyses; 5. Designing catastrophe reinsurance programs; 6. Preparing and sending catastrophe risk assessment data to reinsurers.

Salary range or hourly pay range for the position
The salary range for this position is $112,549 - $146,100 annually.
