The Newark, NJ office of Epstein Becker & Green is seeking an attorney to work in its growing national management-side Employment, Labor & Workforce Management (ELWM) practice. Candidates should have four to five years of relevant labor and employment law experience. This position requires knowledge of federal and state labor & employment laws (e.g., Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state laws).
The ideal candidate should have experience handling all aspects of litigation such as interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents, drafting pleadings and various motions and briefs, conducting, and defending depositions, interacting with clients and opposing counsel, and attending court appearances. Experience providing advice and counsel on workplace matters, including hiring, onboarding, employee discipline and discharge, wage and hour compliance, employee relations, mitigation of risk, workplace accommodations, leave management, employment agreements, reductions-in-force, and employment-related policies is also beneficial.
Candidates must possess strong academic credentials and have excellent communication and writing skills. Admission to practice law in New Jersey is mandatory.
The expected salary range for this position is $240,000- $260,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to the base salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
