Position Overview:

Cybernet is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate GIS Surveyor to support fiber optic network planning, deployment, and maintenance through field surveys, GIS data collection, and mapping. The ideal candidate will collaborate with GIS, ODN, and Fiber Planning teams to ensure accurate mapping of fiber infrastructure, enabling effective network rollout and expansion. Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct on-site fiber optic network surveys to collect accurate data on existing and planned fiber infrastructure.

· Perform route mapping for fiber cables, ducts, manholes, handholes, poles, and splicing locations.

· Utilize GPS and GIS applications to ensure precise data collection and location accuracy.

· Convert field survey data into GIS-compatible formats and update the fiber optic database.

· Ensure accurate representation of fiber connectivity, including OLTs, ONTs, and backbone networks in GIS software.

· Identify and report any discrepancies observed during field surveys, supplemented with photographic evidence.

· Maintain survey logs and as-built drawings for future reference and documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, or Geomatics.

· 0-2 years of experience in GIS-based field surveying for fiber optic networks.

· Hands-on experience with GPS devices and GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, and Google Earth.

· Knowledge of fiber optic networks, ODN components, GPON architecture, and splicing structures.

· Familiarity with coordinate systems, spatial data accuracy, and network topology mapping.

· Willingness to work in challenging field environments and travel as required.
