Associate Veterinarian - Prairie Animal Hospital

Who You Are
You’re a DVM (or soon to be) with solid medical knowledge, strong communication skills, and a genuine love for pets and their people. You’re confident making decisions, enjoy working with a supportive team, and know how to handle challenges with grace. What You’ll Do
You’ll join our team to diagnose, treat, and perform surgery while keeping patient comfort at the center. You’ll communicate clearly with clients, collaborate with techs and assistants, and help maintain the medical standards we’re proud of. You’ll stay organized, keep accurate medical records, and pitch in wherever needed.

Leadership and Teamwork
You don’t need a management title to lead. You’ll help build morale, contribute ideas, and keep our culture strong. You’ll listen, stay curious, lift others up, and step in to help when the day gets busy. This is a place where teamwork matters, and where mentorship is part of how we support one another every day.

Client Care
Our clients trust us with their furry family. You’ll listen closely, make clear recommendations, and deliver an experience that keeps them confident in their care. You’ll follow up, show empathy, and tailor communication to meet each client’s needs so they feel supported and informed.

What You Bring

• IL veterinary license (or eligibility), DVM degree, DEA/PLIT compliance
• Strong medical and surgical competency and solid understanding of diagnostics
• Ability to restrain animals kindly using Fear Free or Low Stress methods
• Excellent communication, empathy, and record-keeping
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and stay energized through a busy day
• Comfort working independently while thriving in a team-driven environment
• Desire to keep learning and help others do the same
