The Audit Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing internal and external audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective risk management. The role ensures the integrity of financial reporting, operational efficiency, internal control strength, and compliance with local laws and regulatory standards.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Audit Planning & Strategy
- Develop annual audit plans based on risk assessment and business priorities.
- Define audit scope, objectives, and methodologies.
- Ensure timely execution of audit cycles.
B. Internal Audit Execution
- Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits.
- Evaluate internal controls and identify weaknesses or improvement opportunities.
- Review business processes, SOPs, and governance practices.
- Ensure accurate documentation of audit findings.
C. External Audit Coordination
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements, IFRS, GAAP, and local standards.
D. Reporting & Recommendations
- Prepare audit reports with findings, risks, and corrective actions.
- Present audit results to senior management.
- Follow up on action plans and track remediation progress.
E. Risk Management
- Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks across departments.
- Recommend controls to minimize risks.
- Monitor implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
F. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, ESR, Labour Law, etc.).
- Maintain updated knowledge of laws, regulations, and audit standards.
- Support internal policy creation and review.
G. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the audit team.
- Allocate work, monitor performance, and provide training.
- Promote a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance.
3. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications preferred: CA, CPA, ACCA, CIA.
- 5–10 years of audit experience, including at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, internal controls, risk management, and audit methodologies.
- Industry experience (manufacturing, trading, construction, services) is an added advantage.
