Automotive Sales Consultant – Job Description

We’re looking for a high-energy, results-driven Automotive Sales Consultant who knows how to connect with customers, understand their needs, and guide them into the right vehicle with confidence and professionalism. This role is all about delivering an exceptional guest experience while presenting the value of our vehicles, warranties, maintenance plans, and other products that enhance ownership.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the automotive industry, stays informed on the newest models and trends, and has the skill to read buying signals and close deals without ever being pushy.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Sales

  • Convert showroom visitors into satisfied customers by identifying their needs, interests, and purchase motivations.
  • Present and demonstrate vehicle features, capabilities, and benefits — including side-by-side comparisons against competitive models.
  • Conduct professional test drives and provide a tailored product presentation for each customer.

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all new and pre-owned vehicles, including trims, features, incentives, and industry trends.

Relationship Building

  • Build rapport and long-term relationships with potential and existing customers to drive future business and referrals.
  • Maintain regular communication through follow-up calls, emails, and CRM activity.

CRM & Reporting

  • Update and manage customer information, sales progress, and inventory within the dealership CRM.
  • Maintain accurate reporting structures to ensure smooth sales operations.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with team members and management to achieve individual and dealership-wide sales goals.
  • Contribute to a positive, high-performance culture on the sales floor.

Qualifications

  • Strong passion for sales and customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read customer buying signals and close confidently without being aggressive.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of automotive products and market trends (or willingness to learn fast).
  • CRM experience preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $7,000.00 - $23,000.00 per month
