Automotive Service Advisor

The Automotive Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and the service department. The role involves understanding customer concerns, recommending appropriate maintenance or repair services, coordinating with technicians, and ensuring an excellent customer experience from arrival to vehicle pickup.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Interaction

• Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival.
• Listen to customer concerns, gather vehicle information, and document issues accurately.
• Provide clear explanations of diagnostic findings, required repairs, and recommended services.
• Maintain regular communication with customers regarding repair status, additional findings, and completion times.
• Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the service process, addressing concerns promptly.

Service Coordination

• Create repair orders with accurate customer and vehicle information.
• Translate customer concerns into clear, technician-friendly repair descriptions.
• Coordinate workloads with service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Review technician recommendations and prepare service estimates.
• Obtain customer authorization for additional services as needed.
• Perform quality checks and verify that services were completed correctly before returning the vehicle to the customer.

Sales & Recommendations

• Promote preventive maintenance and additional services based on manufacturer guidelines and the vehicle's condition.
• Prepare itemized invoices and explain charges to customers.
• Upsell maintenance packages, warranties, and value-added services when appropriate.

Administrative Tasks

• Maintain service records, warranty documentation, and repair histories.
• Schedule service appointments and manage service department workflow.
• Process payments and maintain accurate billing.
• Adhere to organizational, safety, and environmental regulations.
