Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for all maintenance tasks, including scheduled and unscheduled activities, in response to the airline’s operational requirements. This role involves the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and certification of aircraft avionics, electrical, and electronic systems. The role may also supervise and delegate resources to ensure smooth aircraft operations, performing complex maintenance tasks, ensuring aircraft safety, and maintaining airworthiness in compliance with CAR-145 & CAR-147 regulations.
Qualifications
- Conduct maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and general repair of aircraft avionics, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Assist engineers in all aspects of aircraft maintenance operations.
- Exercise certification privileges within the scope of B2 authorization and approve the return to service of aircraft following maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with CAR-145, CAR-147 and other requirements of civil aviation authority regulations, manufacturer manuals, and company procedures.
- Perform maintenance tasks while monitoring and maintaining electrical systems and aircraft instruments
- Interpret and analyse complex technical information, engineering manuals, and diagrams to support maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, certifications, inspections, and ensure complete documentation of aircraft maintenance.
- Ensure replenishment of aircraft components and that standard aviation protocols and engineering practices are followed.
- Collaborate with different departments and crew to debrief issues, implement corrective measures, and keep senior managers informed of maintenance requirements.
- Participate in initial, recurrent, and differences training to maintain technical competence, regulatory compliance, and proficiency with new aircraft variants or additional systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures, safety standards, and team efficiency.
- Willing to travel within the UAE and internationally as required.
Requirements
- Valid GCAA Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML) – Category B2 – mandatory.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering – preferred.
- Minimum 3*-5 years of certifying experience*
- Possess at least one type rating for one of the following aircraft: A330, A320, B737NG/MAX, B777, B787.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, and powerplant systems, components, MEL, and independent checks.
- EASA or FAA A&P Licence – an advantage.
