Backend Developer Intern

Job Overview

We’re seeking motivated Backend Developer Interns who are eager to build modern, reliable, and scalable server-side systems. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with backend technologies, RESTful APIs, and databases while working alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and integration of backend services and APIs.
• Work with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL).
• Learn and contribute to server-side logic, authentication, and data flow.
• Collaborate with frontend and DevOps teams for end-to-end delivery.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript .
• Familiarity with REST APIs and databases ( MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL ).
• Willingness to learn modern backend frameworks (e.g., NestJS , Express ).
• Team player with attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Type of employment: 6 months Internship

Schedule: 8 hours shift, 6 working days/week.

Work location: On-site, Jeddah & KAUST Research & Technology Park, Thuwal, Saudi Arabia.

Transportation: Daily shuttles between Jeddah and KAUST are available.
