Job Title: Barista
Department: Front of House
Reports To: Restaurant / Café Manager
1. Job Purpose
Prepare high-quality coffee and beverages, maintain a clean and organized counter, and deliver fast, friendly, professional service that makes every guest feel valued and excited to return.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Beverage Preparation
- Prepare all hot and cold drinks: coffee, tea, specialty drinks, mocktails (if applicable), and smoothies according to standard recipes.
- Ensure taste, temperature, presentation, and portion size are always consistent.
- Set up the barista station before service and close it properly after service.
B. Guest Service
- Greet every guest with eye contact, a smile, and a warm welcome.
- Take orders clearly, repeat back to confirm, and suggest suitable add-ons (extra shot, dessert, pastry, etc.).
- Handle guest complaints calmly and professionally; immediately inform the supervisor or manager if support is needed.
- Maintain a professional, tidy appearance at all times.
C. Cash Handling and System Use
- Take orders correctly using the billing system.
- Handle cash, card, and online payments accurately.
- Issue bills and receipts correctly and avoid shortages or excess at the cash drawer.
D. Hygiene, Safety, and Cleanliness
- Keep the coffee machine, grinder, fridge, counter, bar area, and tools clean and sanitized throughout the shift.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards (hand washing, gloves where needed, no cross-contamination).
- Check milk, syrups, and ingredients for expiry and proper storage.
- Immediately clean spills and maintain a neat, organized work area.
E. Stock and Equipment Care
- Monitor daily stock of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, napkins, and other items.
- Inform the supervisor before items run out; follow the ordering and requisition process.
- Handle equipment with care and report any faults immediately.
- Backwash and clean the machine during and after shift as per standard procedure.
F. Teamwork
- Coordinate smoothly with the waiters, cashier, and kitchen team to ensure fast service.
- Support colleagues during busy hours without waiting to be told.
- Attend trainings and implement new menu items and service standards.
3. Requirements
- Basic knowledge of coffee, milk texturing, and beverage preparation (training can be provided).
- Good communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
- Strong personal hygiene, discipline, and punctuality.
- Ability to stand for long hours and work under pressure while staying calm.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and respect for guests, team, and management.
4. Performance Indicators (What “Good” Looks Like)
- Drinks served correctly and on time.
- No repeated guest complaints about taste, attitude, or delays.
- Clean, organized barista station at all times.
- Accurate cash handling and minimal wastage.
- Friendly, proactive behavior noticed by guests and managers.

Pay: AED2,300.00 per month
