Job Summary

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages while delivering excellent customer service. The role requires strong product knowledge, speed, cleanliness, and the ability to maintain a friendly and professional attitude at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Beverage Preparation

Prepare espresso-based drinks, hot and cold beverages to brand standards

Properly grind, dose, tamp, and extract espresso

Prepare specialty drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, iced coffee, and frappes

Control portion size and consistency

Customer Service

Greet customers warmly and take accurate orders

Recommend drinks and upsell items when appropriate

Handle customer complaints professionally

Ensure fast, friendly service during peak hours

Cleanliness & Hygiene

Keep coffee station, counters, and equipment clean at all times

Follow food safety and hygiene regulations

Assist in daily cleaning and machine sanitation

Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance

Cash Handling & POS

Operate POS system

Accept cash and card payments

Handle basic cash reconciliation

Stock & Inventory

Monitor stock of coffee beans, milk, and supplies

Report shortages to supervisor

Reduce waste by following correct preparation methods

Teamwork

Support team members during busy periods

Follow manager instructions and shop policies

Maintain positive work environment

Requirements & Qualifications

Mandatory

Previous experience as a Barista preferred

Basic knowledge of coffee brewing and espresso machines

Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Customer-focused attitude

Flexible working hours and shifts

Preferred

Barista certificate or training

Knowledge of latte art

Experience in Dubai cafés or hotels
