We are seeking a Behavioral Health Physician (MD/DO) to provide psychiatric evaluations, crisis intervention, and medication management in a correctional healthcare setting. This position supports patients with acute and chronic mental health needs while working within a structured, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and suicide risk evaluations
• Perform clinical interviews, including cell-front assessments when needed
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with facility protocols
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) meetings
• Document all care using SOAPE format and track treatment progress
• Collaborate with medical and mental health staff on co-occurring conditions
• Provide on-call coverage for urgent patient needs

Qualifications

• Active California Medical License (unrestricted)
• Minimum 24 months psychiatric experience within the last 3 years
• Strong clinical communication skills
• Comfortable working in a secure, structured environment
