- Invoice and bill processing: Generate and send out invoices to clients, verify billing information, and process payments.
Required skills and qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is often preferred.
- Technical skills: Proficiency with billing software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel) is essential.
- Soft skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and customer service skills, and good organizational and time management abilities are crucial.
- Experience: Prior experience in billing, accounts, or a similar financial role is often required.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with financial regulations and, for specialized roles, medical terminology or coding is necessary.
- Account management: Maintain accurate customer accounts, including updating contact information and tracking outstanding balances.
- Customer communication: Respond to customer inquiries, resolve billing issues, and handle payment reminders for overdue accounts.
- Record keeping: Keep precise records of all billing transactions, deposits, and payments received.
- Reporting and analysis: Prepare periodic billing reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
