Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of various legal areas, including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law and regulations, litigation, and patent law. This role offers an opportunity to provide expert legal counsel to our clients and support the firm's diverse legal needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong research and writing skills, proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw, and experience in legal drafting and administrative tasks within a law office environment.
Duties
- Provide legal advice and counsel across multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation, and patent law.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and client advisories.
- Draft legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other necessary filings with precision and clarity.
- Manage case files and maintain organized records of all legal documentation.
- Assist in negotiations with clients or opposing parties to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Stay current on relevant laws and regulations affecting various practice areas through ongoing research and professional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the law office to ensure compliance with legal standards and deadlines.
- Support administrative functions related to case management and client communication.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar with active licensing.
- Proven experience or familiarity with estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation, or patent law is highly desirable.
- Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms.
- Excellent legal writing skills and proficiency in legal drafting.
- Prior experience working in a busy law office setting with legal administrative responsibilities is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal issues critically and develop effective solutions.
