Senior Business Development Manager – Solar / Renewable Energy

About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth in the solar and renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating high-quality leads, and building long-term relationships with clients across B2B, commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. This role requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of the solar energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve sales targets and expand the company’s client base.
- Research, identify, and engage potential clients in targeted market segments, including commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.
- Generate high-quality leads through cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and other lead generation tools.
- Qualify leads based on business requirements, budgets, and project timelines to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM systems, tracking pipeline, lead progression, and conversion metrics.
- Collaborate closely with the sales, project, and marketing teams to coordinate follow-ups, meetings, and proposal submissions.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with prospective clients through consultative selling and effective communication.
- Support the preparation of pitch presentations, proposals, and product information decks tailored to client needs.
- Monitor and report on lead generation performance, conversion rates, and sales pipeline health.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the solar and renewable energy sector.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in business development, lead generation, or inside sales, preferably within the solar or renewable energy sector.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and drive business growth.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software, MS Office, and lead generation tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of the solar industry, project sales cycle, and technical terminology is highly desirable.
