CLIENT AND ROLE:
Our client is a well-respected and leading conglomerate in the Construction and Business sector, with 50+ different companies under its umbrella. As they grow, they are now looking for a Business Development Manager for their Construction arm of the business (size: around 11,000 employees).
The successful candidate is an Arabic speaker with good commercial experience in the Construction / Contracting industry, preferably with experience in leading a small team.
The successful candidate must have the below skillset / experience to be considered:
- Bachelor's in Business Administration, Engineering or any related degree
- 6-8 years' pf experience minimum
- Proven experience in the Construction / Construction Contracting industry
JOB SUMMARY:
Manage and monitor all contract & sales related matters at the company in accordance to the company policies and applicable legal requirements, achieve the sales target goals, develop business segments as per company strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the assigned duties as per the set policies and procedures in order to achieve the department goals.
- Prepare and implement the annual sales and contracts plan to support the overall strategic objectives of the company.
- Identify, design and implement strategic plan for projects activity, as and when required.
- Prepare and manage the Sales & Contracts Department budget.
- Develop, implement and maintain the Sales & Contracts area policies and procedures.
- Manage, develop, evaluate and lead the Sales & Contracts Department team to execute the assigned tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all internal as well as external regulations.
- Manage and evaluate the performance of the work staff members, provide on-the-job training to staff members as required.
- Ensure that contracts progress and payments status are monitored and appropriate reporting of project contracts status is provided.
- Achieve the sales target through the support of the Business Development Engineer.
- Review and sign off on all contracts and ensure their accuracy.
- Manage and coordinate with other departments to ensure that the contracts are precise and milestones are clarified.
- Develop and write the draft contract documents required.
- Work with other departments to ensure smooth material supply.
- Assist in preparing proposals after determining the estimated work cost.
- Review the operating results of the regional sales unit and compare them to established goals and objectives to ensure that departments are operating effectively.
- Administer the operation of the budget work programs established, procure needed equipment and supplies, and negotiate contracts.
- Supervise and work in close coordination with other teams to accomplish the efficient and timely completion of the projects, operations and maintenance requirements.
- Summarize contract terms and conditions, particularly any special contract provisions to avoid any misunderstandings later on and allow the client to gain a better understanding of the terms prior to beginning work.
- Prepare sales reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information.
- Drive the area estimation/quotes to ensure that the quantities needed are correct and sufficient for the completion of the project.
- Prepare progress report for communication meetings with clients.
- Prepare needed weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for the upper management review.
- Build up project cost estimation and submit it to the operation/construction team.
- Perform any other tasks related to the job assigned by the direct manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Engineering or in any related field.
- 6-8 years of experience minimum
- Construction / Construction Contracting sector experience
