What role you will play in our team


The Data Governance Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, consistency, and strategic value of Supply Chain data. The role is responsible for bridging business and technical teams to operationalize the organization's data governance framework and thus enabling improved decision-making, cost optimization, operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and enhanced compliance. The role supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the data governance framework, focusing on data quality, metadata management, stewardship enablement, policy application, and data issue management and resolution. Within Supply Chain, the Data Governance Specialist sits in the Discipline Management group, and this individual ensure efficient and effective execution of work output in support of the Product Management team's objectives.

The specific role will report to the Data Discipline Manager.


What you will do


  • Drive data governance framework and/or support data governance program execution, working closely with Supply Chain teams (e.g., Data Owners, Data Stewards) to achieve key data governance outcomes (e.g., defining and maintaining critical data elements)
  • Implement and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures across Supply Chain data domains
  • Manage metadata, business glossaries, and data lineage within governance tools
  • Steward and enforce data quality rules; identify and resolve data issues impacting business operations and reporting accuracy
  • Participate in data council meetings, presenting findings, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and steward data literacy program efforts for Supply Chain
  • Develop and monitor metrics for data improvement opportunities

About You


Skills and Qualifications


  • Proven experience in designing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models within large, complex organizations (energy industry is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, best practices (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, etc.) and associated tools (e.g., Collibra, Microsoft Purview)
  • Hands-on experience with data quality, metadata management, lineage, master/reference data models,
  • Ability to assess data governance maturity and develop strategic roadmaps for improvement and value realization
  • Understanding of data architecture, data models, BI platforms, and integration with analytics/AI initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management and influence skills; able to gain buy-in across IT and business functions
