Position Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for acquiring goods and services necessary for an organization's operations. Building strong positive relationships with suppliers will be essential to the success of this role.
Responsibilities:

Procurement: Purchasing materials, supplies, and services necessary for manufacturing operations. Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining high-quality standards.

Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities. Use this information to make informed purchasing decisions.

Cost Management: Analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as production, engineering, and quality assurance, to understand their needs and ensure seamless operations.

Risk Management: Monitor potential supplier issues and work with leadership to develop strategies to mitigate them.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline purchasing processes, improve vendor performance, and enhance efficiency.

Alignment with Company Goals: Support Imperial’s cost, quality, and delivery objectives by ensuring procurement practices align with strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Systems Management: Utilize the company’s ERP system to manage purchase orders, supplier data, and inventory levels accurately. • Data Analysis: Use data-driven insights to forecast needs, monitor supplier performance, and inform decision-making.

Ethical Procurement: Uphold ethical standards in all purchasing activities, ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications:

Education: Associates degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, purchasing or supply chain administration, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
