About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Buyer to join a growing manufacturing team specializing in complex

This role requires a proactive professional experienced in regulated manufacturing environments (such

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, quote, negotiate, and issue purchase orders for a variety of commodities, including custom-machined parts, wire harnesses, PCBs, subassemblies, and specialized manufacturing services.
  • Ensure all purchased materials and services meet applicable regulatory and quality standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; conduct vendor performance reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to strengthen the supply base.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Production teams to support prototype builds, manage part obsolescence, and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Perform cost analysis and participate in make vs. buy decisions.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives and provide accurate purchasing data for management reports.
  • Track and report on supplier performance — quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
  • Expedite critical materials to maintain production schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Participate in root cause and corrective action processes for supplier-related issues.
  • Maintain complete and compliant purchasing records in alignment with internal quality and regulatory systems.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Must-Haves:

  • 4–6 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles within a regulated manufacturing environment (preferably medical devices).
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce).
  • Proven ability to manage sourcing for low-volume, high-complexity products.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and supplier quality expectations.

Preferred:

  • Experience with cost analysis, supplier scorecards, and vendor qualification processes.
  • Working understanding of FDA and ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
