About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Buyer to join a growing manufacturing team specializing in complex
electromechanical systems. The Buyer will play a key role in the procurement of components, materials,
and services essential for production, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with all
regulatory standards.
This role requires a proactive professional experienced in regulated manufacturing environments (such
as medical devices) who can balance strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities

Source, quote, negotiate, and issue purchase orders for a variety of commodities, including custom-machined parts, wire harnesses, PCBs, subassemblies, and specialized manufacturing services.

Ensure all purchased materials and services meet applicable regulatory and quality standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).

Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; conduct vendor performance reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to strengthen the supply base.

Collaborate closely with Engineering and Production teams to support prototype builds, manage part obsolescence, and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

Perform cost analysis and participate in make vs. buy decisions.

Support cost-reduction initiatives and provide accurate purchasing data for management reports.

Track and report on supplier performance — quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.

Expedite critical materials to maintain production schedules and minimize downtime.

Participate in root cause and corrective action processes for supplier-related issues.

Maintain complete and compliant purchasing records in alignment with internal quality and regulatory systems.

Support internal and external audits as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Must-Haves:

4–6 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles within a regulated manufacturing environment (preferably medical devices).

Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce).

Proven ability to manage sourcing for low-volume, high-complexity products.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and supplier quality expectations.
Preferred:

Experience with cost analysis, supplier scorecards, and vendor qualification processes.

Working understanding of FDA and ISO 13485 requirements.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
