The ideal candidate is responsible for the effective sourcing and procurement of locally available materials of any kind without compromising the quality and standards, negotiates with suppliers and submit recommendations for quotation approval and perform other activities assigned.


Responsibilities

  • Source local suppliers for all local requisitions.
  • Reviews specification on purchase requisitions and coordinate with material requester if need further details.
  • Negotiate with suppliers the cost, rates and delivery terms.
  • Prepare bid analysis for approval.
  • Ensure that materials purchased meet the requirements and comply with the specifications and descriptions referred to in the purchase requisitions.
  • Advise on the status of delivery of purchased materials.
  • Coordinate with customs clearing agent, port authorities for urgent/critical shipment clearance and related activities.
  • Keeps and maintains complete records of all purchase requisitions, purchase orders, cash invoices and related documents for easy reference and retrieval of information.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years working experience in purchasing functions from manufacturing industry and good knowledge of local market.
  • Familiarity with consumables, office supplies, maintenance, mechanical and electrical spare parts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
