TempExperts is seeking an experienced Buyer to join a manufacturing organization in Warren, Massachusetts for a 6–9 month temporary assignment. The Buyer will manage procurement activities for assigned commodities, ensuring timely materials flow to support production and sales. This role requires strong analytical skills, ERP experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume environment.
Responsibilities:
- Execute procurement activities and coordinate purchasing functions for assigned commodities.
- Identify and requisition MRP and non-MRP inventory requirements to meet production planning needs.
- Manage supplier communications, purchase order acknowledgments, and revisions in the MRP system.
- Resolve shipment and invoice discrepancies in coordination with Receiving and Finance.
- Support the preparation and distribution of RFP packages and manage supplier due dates.
- Maintain data integrity in the MRP system, ensuring accurate supplier pricing, lead times, and order quantities.
- Authorize procurement of inventory, tooling, and MRO items within established signature authority.
- Monitor open purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure on-time material availability.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate non-value-added activities and improve department efficiency.
- Escalate workflow issues and potential delays to the Purchasing Manager as needed.
Requirements/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Materials, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of experience in materials management or supply chain, preferably in a High Mix–Low Volume manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management concepts, ERP systems, and purchasing processes.
- Skilled in supplier selection, price analysis, and negotiation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.'
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- U.S. citizenship required.
