Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services. Duties
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with company goals and category management objectives.
- Manage procurement processes using ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and contract management.
- Conduct contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules while ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) when applicable.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, logistics, quality management, and production planning to coordinate procurement activities.
- Perform supplier evaluations, root cause analysis for supply chain disruptions, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks to optimize sourcing decisions.
- Manage supplier relationships through effective communication, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee materials management, inventory levels, and procurement planning using MRP systems to support manufacturing schedules.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures while maintaining documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS; familiarity with MRP processes is essential.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, sourcing strategies, category management, and supplier management.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is preferred for government-related procurement projects.
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with the ability to analyze pricing structures and supply chain data for root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with logistics, production planning, quality management, and materials management processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
