Job Title: Buyer
Location: Simi Valley, CA
Duration: 6+ Months
Overview:
The Buyer supports a wide range of purchasing activities, including pricing, supplier negotiations, and contract management, while ensuring compliance with government regulations and organizational procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform complex purchasing activities, including pricing analysis, volume discounts, and long-term supplier contract negotiations.

Negotiate best terms for price, delivery, and payment while maintaining efficient PO output.

Establish source-selection criteria and evaluate supplier quotations to determine award decisions.

Implement formal/legal contractual documentation ensuring compliance with corporate and government requirements.

Resolve discrepancies between PO requirements and supplier performance.

Ensure compliance with procurement laws, regulations, and policies.

Identify issues, initiate corrective actions, and drive timely resolution.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date PO data (delivery dates, pricing, change orders).

Exercise independent judgment in significant procurement matters.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance; may require nights/weekends as needed.

Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Strong knowledge of procurement principles in aerospace/manufacturing environments.

Proven experience as a Buyer or similar procurement role.

Ability to write specifications, prepare bid documents, and analyze bid results.

Strong track record negotiating contracts and achieving favorable terms.

Ability to solve complex problems using multiple data sources.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management.

Familiarity with production planning and demand forecasting.

Experience with procurement systems such as SAP.
