Overview
The Buyer is a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for sourcing and procuring electrical components, materials, and services required for the production of complex electromechanical systems. This role focuses on purchasing items such as PCBs, cable assemblies, wire harnesses, machined parts, and custom subassemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, quote, negotiate, and create purchase orders for electrical and mechanical commodities, including cable harnesses, PCBs, machined components, and manufacturing services.
- Ensure purchased materials meet required quality and regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers; conduct performance reviews and vendor audits.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to support production and cost objectives.
- Partner with Engineering and Production to support prototypes, manage part obsolescence, and execute ECO-related changes.
- Perform cost analysis and contribute to make/buy decisions and cost reduction initiatives.
- Track and report supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
- Expedite critical materials to support on-time production and minimize downtime.
- Participate in root cause and corrective actions for supplier-related issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and deliver purchasing reports, metrics, and cost-saving summaries.
- Support internal and external quality audits as needed.

Pay: $27.70 - $39.35 per hour
