Job Summary and Purpose:
Effectively contributes to the purchase of materials and services for site operations, with key duties involving market research, sourcing, purchase orders & record management, and vendor relationships.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers and products.

Monitor market conditions and commodity prices as they relate to our business.

Assist Purchasing Manager with contract negotiations, set pricing, and delivery terms with vendors.

Process purchase orders for routine items (including MRO, services, equipment rentals, and critical supplies) and resolve any discrepancies with vendors.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.

Identify cost savings opportunities when the needs of the business change.

Track supplier performance and address any issues related to late deliveries or quality concerns.

Maintain supplier scorecard data as it relates to purchasing.

Assist operations with critical supplies demands based on inventory consumption and sales forecast.

Maintain vendor pricing and purchase order accuracy in IFS ERP system.

Work with quality team to ensure new part numbers are created and entered in IFS in a timely manner.

Assist operations teams or management on selecting the appropriate supplier to be used based upon a value-cost analysis for the material or service.

Follow back-order report schedule to make sure reports are created, monitor responses, and execute any follow-up actions.

Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and finance, to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

Manage issues with accounts payable, delivery, receiving and other departments as needed to ensure an efficient payment process.

Attend internal company meetings-S&OP calls, new supply planning, company business update meetings, and site sourcing requests.

Travel within the US and to CAN as required.

Proficiency in relevant software, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. (Power BI experience a plus but not mandatory)

Previous experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP/NetSuite/Oracle, etc.)

Education, experience, and requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent field.
-
Proven work experience in a buyer or procurement role. (minimum 1 year experience required)

Must be able to commute to office daily.
