Buyer Operations Analyst

LangeTwins Family Winery & Vineyards – Acampo, CA
Full-Time | On-Site

Where precision meets production
LangeTwins is looking for a Buyer Operations Analyst who can keep our dry goods and materials flowing as smoothly as our wine. If you enjoy balancing numbers, negotiating with suppliers, and supporting a fast-paced production environment, this role blends operations, analysis, and collaboration into one satisfying pour.

About the Role

The Buyer Operations Analyst supports our purchasing and operational activities to ensure the timely, accurate, and cost-effective procurement of dry goods and materials essential to our production. This role keeps inventory levels in check, monitors supplier performance, and analyzes data to support both production and financial goals. You’ll act as a key link between suppliers, production, and finance to ensure material availability aligns with schedules, budgets, and quality standards. You’ll also help us improve processes so the supply chain runs as efficiently as our bottling line.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Create and manage purchase orders for dry goods to meet production schedules.
  • Create POs aligned with the 90-day production plan to support on-time deliveries.
  • Review supplier requirements to ensure ordering aligns with MOQs, lead times, and order quantities.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery schedules; proactively address issues or delays.
  • Build and maintain productive vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with finance to review supplier pricing, terms, and invoice accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, purchasing procedures, and ethical sourcing standards.

Inventory & Data Management

  • Track dry goods inventory and reconcile quantities against production forecasts and the 90-day bottling plan.
  • Analyze inventory trends to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support data collection and reporting on supplier performance, quality standards, material costs, and usage trends.
  • Maintain item master data, dry goods specifications, and supplier information within ERP or purchasing systems.

Operational Support & Collaboration

  • Partner with bottling, winemaking, logistics, and quality teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Assist with new product introductions, material phase-outs, and supplier transitions.
  • Identify process gaps in procurement workflows and contribute ideas for improvement.
  • Support internal communication to align material availability with production and business goals.

Analytical & Forecasting Support

  • Assist in forecasting dry goods requirements based on historical usage, production plans, and lead times.
  • Analyze spend data and supplier metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare routine procurement KPI reports (on-time delivery, cost variance, supplier responsiveness).
  • Prepare annualized supplier forecasts incorporating a 90-day rolling forecast and update monthly.
  • Analyze supplier forecasts versus actuals and identify shortfalls.
  • Ensure supplier forecasts align with supplier agreements and communicate needed adjustments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3 plus years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management (manufacturing/production preferred).
  • Solid understanding of procurement fundamentals, supplier communication, and inventory control.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and spot trends.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department and supplier collaboration.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, documentation, and order processing.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook; ERP experience preferred.
  • Understanding of how material costs impact budgets and COGs.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience in the wine, beverage, or food manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of supplier forecasting and procurement analytics preferred.

If you enjoy keeping things organized, seeing the story behind the numbers, and being the behind-the-scenes engine that keeps production moving, we’d love to meet you.
