Position Summary:
As a key contributor to Empower’s supply chain team, the Buyer Planner II leads complex procurement strategies that drive cost savings, mitigate supply risk, and ensure continuity of supply for high-quality medications. This role independently manages sourcing activities, strengthens supplier partnerships, and supports cross-functional initiatives to meet production and commercialization goals. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring supplier alignment with company objectives, compliance standards, and production timelines.

Develops and executes strategic sourcing plans to drive cost optimization, supplier diversification, and long-term agreements that enhance business continuity.

Collaborates cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to qualify suppliers and ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices, Food and Drug Administration, and Drug Enforcement Administration requirements.

Implements supplier performance metrics, conducts evaluations, and uses data-driven insights to improve vendor quality, service levels, and on-time delivery.

Leads supply chain readiness efforts for new product launches and technical transfers, ensuring material availability aligns with commercialization timelines.

Knowledge and Skills:

Proficient in Enterprise Resource Planning systems such as Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing or Oracle, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and the ability to use data analytics for procurement decisions.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain management, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role managing complex sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or equivalent experience.

Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM); Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP); Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
