- Report to Complex Purchasing Manager, assisting with daily operations.
- Utilize evaluation system for vendor quotes with appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques, ensuring quality, price, delivery and service.
- Manage and monitor procurement reporting systems.
- Recruit and maintain suppliers who provide high quality products and services while maintaining highest code of ethics and conduct.
- Prepare and issue purchase contracts and change notices.
- Review claims and contracts for conformance to Company policy.
- Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price and specifications.
- All other relevant duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, with Bachelor degree preferred. Education may be considered in place of relevant work experience.
- 1+ year(s) buyer experience in poultry or meat category market preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient technology, computer, mathematical and analytical skills.
- Detail oriented.
