We are looking for a Senior Buyer who will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services to support company operations while ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and the negotiation of high-value contracts. The Senior Buyer may also mentor junior procurement staff and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key commodities and services.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable contracts.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and inventory levels to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Manage supplier relationships and resolve performance issues to ensure high standards of quality and service.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including operations, finance, and engineering to align procurement strategies with business needs.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and budget constraints.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting for audits and cost analysis.
  • Lead or support cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
  • Mentor and support junior buyers and procurement staff.
  • Travel occasionally to vendors for sourcing needs and to develop relationships with potential suppliers.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles, with a focus on strategic sourcing or category management.
  • Experience in global sourcing or working with international suppliers.
  • Proven communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to evaluate and negotiate costs of goods and shipping methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices and purchase orders.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
