About the Role:
The Manager Cabin Safety & Training leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all Cabin Safety standards, procedures, and training programs, ensuring alignment with international regulations, industry best practices, and IOSA Risk-Based Oversight (RBI) principles. This role ensures continued operational excellence by embedding a Safety Management System (SMS) within Cabin Services by creating a proactive, data-driven risk management and a Safety Culture that continuously improves operational standards and outcomes. Resource management (time, product, people) is crucial for delivering world-class training programs and establishing a dynamic Safety-First Training Culture. The incumbent must collaborate closely with key departments to support the constant evolution of Cabin Safety initiatives company-wide and within the industry.
You will lead a team of training professionals to design, deliver, and audit initial and recurrent cabin crew training programs, incorporating advanced technologies (AI Driven innovations) and aligning with industry safety principles like Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat & Error Management (TEM). Key duties include managing team performance, recruitment, professional development, and ensuring all training materials and procedures meet company standards. Additionally, the position involves significant responsibility for monitoring and enhancing the Safety Management System (SMS) within Cabin Services, promoting hazard identification, maintaining robust Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) and Safety Performance Targets (SPTs) for Cabin Operations, managing the Safety Risk Register, analyzing safety data, and acting as the subject matter expert during regulatory, internal and external audits to ensure compliance and to manage the internal compliance reviews.
This is a permanent position based in Doha, Qatar.
About You:
To be successful in this position, you must have:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with a minimum of 8 years’ job-related experience
Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in the field of Cabin Safety
3 years’ experience in a Managerial or Supervisory position within Cabin Safety
In-depth knowledge of ICAO Annex 6 & 19, IATA ISARPs, and QCAA regulatory frameworks.
Working knowledge of Cabin Safety Standards and Safe Operation practices
Working knowledge of QCAR Air Ops regulations and IOSA Standards pertaining to Cabin Operations
Additionally, candidates meeting the following criteria are preferred:
Possess certifications in Safety Management Systems (SMS), IOSA Auditor Training, or equivalent
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and auditing cabin safety standards and procedures in accordance with ICAO Annex 6 & 19, IATA ISARPs, and QCAA regulatory frameworks
Expertise in risk management, data analytics, and safety performance monitoring
Familiar with Occupational Health and Safety practice
