Pay: $1,200 – $1,500 per week (based on experience)

U.S. Shingle & Metal is expanding our manufacturing division and seeking a skilled CAD Designer experienced in creating roofing CADs for metal roof production using AppliCad Software, as well as other industry-standard CAD tools.

The ideal candidate understands metal roofing systems and can convert roof measurements into precise, production-ready files for exposed fastener, standing seam, and custom trim fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Converting drawings into accurate CAD drawings for:
• - Exposed fastener metal roofing panels
• - Standing seam panels
• - Custom trim, flashings, ridge caps, valleys, transitions, and accessories
• Produce manufacturing-ready files for metal fabrication and production teams
• Utilize AppliCad Software or other CAD software to design, model, and refine roof layouts
• Interpret field measurements, blueprints, and project specifications
• Maintain and update drawing templates, details, and standard component libraries
• Coordinate with roofers, project managers, and shop staff as needed
• Provide layout planning support for residential and commercial projects

Requirements

• Experience creating CAD drawings for metal roofing
• Strong understanding of:
• - Exposed fastener roof systems
• - Standing seam systems
• - Trim design and metal fabrication workflows
• Ability to read roof measurements, and takeoffs
• High attention to detail for production accuracy
• Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience with CNC or roll-former production workflows
• Knowledge of Florida Building Code (roofing)
• Experience in roofing manufacturing, metal fabrication, or construction CAD
• Additional skills in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion360, or similar
