CAD DESIGNER / DOCUMENT CONTROL SPECIALIST
Long Island City, NY

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Engineering, Product Documentation Control Specialist to oversee all engineering product documentation, including drawings, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and Bills of Materials (BOMs). The ideal candidate will have direct experience with SOLIDWORKS PDM and a passion for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in documentation processes.

Responsibilities include:
  • Support Engineering team by creating CAD models for various components and assemblies using SOLIDWORKS.
  • Manage the creation, revision, and maintenance of engineering documentation (drawings, ECNs, BOMs) using SOLIDWORKS.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, ISO/ASME documentation practices, and engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to gather, review, and update technical documents to align with design and project requirements.
  • Maintain the SOLIDWORKS PDM system, ensuring data integrity, smooth operation, and troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on documentation standards, PDM usage, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits of documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards and regulations.
  • Communicate documentation changes and updates clearly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Generate documentation-related reports for management review.
  • Handling other related functions as directed by supervisor.
To qualify, you must have a Minimum of an Associates or Technology related degree and 3
years of experience in a field relating to product design and development. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with SOLIDWORKS CAD and PDM software.
Strong knowledge of Engineering Change Control processes and a familiarity with documentation standards and practices (ISO, ASME) is preferred. Excellent oral/written communication, problem-solving, organizational, and PC skills are all essential.

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000- $95,000.

The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained.
