CAD Engineer

Mechanical Engineer with 1-3 years of experience in steel structural projects who also works with CAD and Tekla typically has the following enhanced roles and responsibilities:

• Creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings of mechanical components and steel structural elements using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Using Tekla Structures software for advanced 3D modeling, detailing, and fabrication drawings of steel structures, ensuring high accuracy in structural connections and components.
• Preparing and managing Bill of Materials (BOM) directly from CAD and Tekla models, including quantities of steel sections, bolts, plates, and other materials.
• Collaborating closely with structural engineers, fabricators, and project teams to validate design details and resolve any clashes or discrepancies in models.
• Coordinating in the production of erection drawings and reports generated from Tekla to support onsite construction and assembly.
• Assisting in project documentation, revisions, and supplier coordination based on precise CAD and Tekla deliverables.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications through detailed modeling and verification.
• Utilizing Tekla's BIM capabilities for clash detection, scheduling, and efficient project management.
• Supporting procurement and fabrication by providing accurate material take-offs and structural details via the CAD and Tekla outputs.
