About the Role

Urja Infratech invites applications for the position of CAD Operator – Electrical to support the design and execution activities for the prestigious Mumbai Metro Line-6 project. The role demands expertise in preparing and managing detailed electrical design drawings, layouts, and as-built documentation in alignment with Metro/Railway project standards. The incumbent will work closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of all CAD-related outputs during the Design-Build period.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, update, and modify electrical CAD drawings for GIS substations, SCADA systems, and other Metro power supply elements.
• Develop and manage single line diagrams (SLD), general arrangements (GA), cable routing, and earthing layouts as per project specifications.
• Assist design engineers in converting technical concepts and sketches into accurate CAD drawings.
• Maintain drawing records, revision logs, and document control as per project and client (MMRDA/IRCON/SYSTRA) requirements.
• Ensure all drawings comply with Metro/Railway standards, codes, and quality benchmarks.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Civil, SCADA, and QA) to ensure design alignment and interface compatibility.
• Provide drawing support during design reviews, technical submissions, and site execution.
• Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings after completion of installation and commissioning works.
• Adhere to company’s ESHS, quality, and documentation protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in CAD (Electrical) or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum Total Experience: 8 years
• Minimum Relevant Experience: 5 years in similar CAD activities for Metro Rail, Suburban Rail, or Mainline Railway projects.
• Must have hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar electrical drafting tools.
• Knowledge of GIS substation layouts, SCADA integration, and power system drawings will be preferred.
• Should possess strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline.

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and related design software.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, layouts, and construction drawings.
• Effective coordination and communication with design, QA, and execution teams.
• Familiarity with Metro project documentation standards (MMRDA)
• Commitment to timelines, safety standards, and project quality objectives.

Engagement Details

The selected candidate shall be posted full-time in Mumbai, dedicated to this Metro Line-6 project, until completion of the Design-Build period.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹8,423.99 - ₹70,000.00 per month
