Schedule: 2nd Shift (3:30 PM to 11:30 PM) - Preferred or 1st Shift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM)


Summary

The Calibration Technician is responsible for the calibration, routine inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of instruments, meters, gauges and other testing and measuring equipment. In addition, this position is responsible for ESD integrity.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage onsite calibration program for a variety of electronic equipment to ensure measurement accuracy, precision and quality control across a wide spectrum of instruments.
    • Ensure readings are consistent with other measurements
    • Determine accuracy of readings
    • Establish reliability of the instrument/equipment
    • Calibrate to industry standards
  • Run tests and interpret results to make effective recommendations to fix faulty or broken equipment.
  • May source replacement parts and negotiate costs with suppliers and customers.
  • Maintain ESD integrity within production environment.
  • Support quality and production for data analysis reporting and product support.
  • Prepare routine performance and measurement presentation.
  • Report on various performance (e.g. quality/ on-time/ lean) metrics in support of management communication needs
  • Responsible for conducting testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards
  • Understanding and following all applicable ISO guidelines and procedures.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of work area, equipment and surrounding work space.
  • Participate in Quality Teams as requested.
  • Train and mentor Production Team as required.
  • Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business.

Qualifications

  • AS Degree in Electronics or other technical discipline, prefer military training (PMEL or TMDE)
  • 3-4 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry, electronics preferred
  • Experience in calibrating several disciplines of test and measurement equipment
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge and the ability to apply understanding of metrology to processes and procedures
  • Understanding of basic electro-mechanical tools (multi-meters, calipers, etc.) and basic hand tools (wrench, torque drivers etc.).
  • Solid computer skills with demonstrated strength WORKING with spreadsheets and data analysis techniques, problem solving, mathematical and other workstation skills.
  • Knowledge of ANSI / NCSL Z-540-1 and ISO 9000
  • Experience using Calibration Lab Software such as LabView, SureCal, Met/Cal, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and quickly with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively as a team member.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
  • US Person as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15 (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty) since work includes ITAR controlled technical data.
