Position Summary:
We are seeking a board-certified Cardiologist to provide medical leadership and expertise in cardiovascular clinical trials. The physician will be centrally involved in working on studies for new, cutting-edge treatments and medical devices related to heart disease, vascular conditions, and structural heart defects. This includes trials focusing on conditions such as coronary artery disease (CAD), heart failure, arrhythmias (like Atrial Fibrillation), hypertension, peripheral artery disease (PAD), and valvular heart disease.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Trial Leadership: Lead and manage complex clinical research studies focusing on cardiovascular disorders, including Phase I-IV trials for novel drugs, biologics, or medical devices (e.g., stents, pacemakers, TAVR devices).
- Perform comprehensive cardiac assessments of potential study participants, including reviewing ECGs, echocardiograms, angiograms, and other cardiac diagnostic tests.
- Evaluate patient eligibility against strict protocol criteria and monitor treatment administration, overseeing patient safety and adverse event reporting throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.
- Collaboration & Oversight: Collaborate closely with clinical research coordinators, nurses, biostatisticians, data managers, and regulatory teams to ensure smooth, high-quality trial operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, FDA, EMA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Protocol Development & Analysis: Actively contribute to clinical trial protocol development, data analysis, interpretation of study results, and preparation of final clinical study reports (CSRs).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely clinical documentation and source records.
- Representation: Represent the clinical research team during investigator meetings, site selection visits, regulatory audits, and necessary regulatory submissions.
Qualifications:
- Education/Certification: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with board certification in Cardiology (required). Subspecialty certification (e.g., Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology) is a plus.
- Licensure: Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction (required).
- Experience: Proven experience in conducting industry-sponsored or investigator-initiated clinical trials, preferably with exposure to cardiovascular therapeutics or medical devices.
- Skills: Demonstrated expertise in interpreting complex cardiac diagnostics. Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and teamwork skills. Strong knowledge of regulatory processes (GCP, ICH guidelines).
