The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fixtures within the facility. This role includes performing a wide range of carpentry tasks from framing and finishing to repairs and maintenance, to ensure the facility’s structural integrity, functionality, and aesthetic quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance on existing structures, identifying and repairing any damage, defects, or signs of wear.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests involving doors, windows, built-in wardrobes, cabinets, and other wooden fixtures.
- Construct, assemble, and install various carpentry elements, including gypsum walls, ceilings, partitions, and cabinets.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials accurately according to specifications and design requirements.
- Complete finishing tasks such as trim work, molding, and other decorative details to enhance the facility’s overall appearance.
- Ensure that all completed carpentry work meets quality standards, design specifications, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate closely with other facility management personnel to address overall maintenance and repair needs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress, timelines, and any issues encountered.
- Estimate the materials, tools, and supplies required for assigned carpentry projects and manage procurement efficiently.
- Optimize material usage to minimize waste and control project costs.
- Adhere strictly to workplace safety standards and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain accurate documentation of carpentry activities, including installations, repairs, inspections, and maintenance logs.
- Design and customize furniture, cabinets, and other wooden fixtures to meet specific facility requirements or aesthetic preferences.
