Cashier

Job Summary
As a Cashier, you will be the friendly face that creates a positive shopping experience for our customers. Your energetic and attentive approach will ensure smooth transactions, excellent customer service, and a welcoming environment. You will handle cash and electronic payments accurately, assist customers with their purchases, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our retail operations. Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping journey
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods with accuracy and integrity
• Assist customers with product inquiries, including product demos when applicable
• Upsell relevant products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales
• Maintain organized checkout counters, ensure proper stocking of register supplies, and manage cash handling procedures
• Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store remains inviting and well-presented
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
• Engage in basic retail math to calculate totals, discounts, and change accurately
• Contribute to a positive team environment by supervising or mentoring new team members when needed

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures in a retail or grocery store setting
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and over the phone
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs better
• Demonstrated upselling techniques to promote products confidently without being pushy
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos to enhance the shopping experience
• Retail math proficiency for accurate transactions and inventory management
• Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette
• Supervising experience is a plus for supporting team operations and training new staff
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
