Job Summary:

A Cath Lab Technician assists cardiologists and other healthcare professionals in diagnosing and treating heart-related conditions through cardiac catheterization and other interventional procedures. The technician is responsible for preparing patients, operating imaging and monitoring equipment, assisting during procedures, and ensuring safety and sterile conditions within the lab.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization and angiography procedures.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain Cath Lab equipment, including imaging systems and hemodynamic monitoring devices.
  • Assist physicians during procedures such as:
  • Coronary angiograms
  • Angioplasty (PTCA)
  • Stent placement
  • Pacemaker and ICD implantation
  • Electrophysiology studies
  • Monitor the patient’s vital signs and ECG during procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Record, document, and store patient data and procedural results accurately.
  • Manage inventory of consumables and equipment, ensuring readiness for all procedures.
  • Respond to emergencies promptly and assist in CPR or code blue situations if required.
  • Ensure radiation safety protocols for both staff and patients.
  • Coordinate with nurses, cardiologists, and anesthetists for smooth workflow.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Cath Lab Technology / Cardiac Care Technology / Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred.
  • Experience: 0–2 years (fresher or experienced, depending on role).
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology
  • Proficiency with Cath Lab equipment and procedures
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, emergency situations

Work Environment:

  • Typically works in hospital Cath Labs or cardiac care units.
  • May require extended hours or on-call duties during emergencies.
  • Exposure to radiation; adherence to safety protocols is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
