About the Role:

The Safety Patrol Supervisor (SSP) plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our CDOT Headquarters for Colorado and DOT relationships. This position is responsible for overseeing fleet operations, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and optimizing logistics to meet safety and DOT demands. The SSP Supervisor will lead a team of drivers under the Program Manager, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes safety and productivity. By implementing best practices in fleet management and operations, the Supervisor will contribute to the overall success, accountability and profitability of the organization. The CDOT Safety Service Patrol plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of roadways throughout Colorado. This position involves overseeing teams that respond to highway incidents, assisting motorists in need, and providing timely support to maintain traffic flow. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to public safety.

Ideal Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration, a related field or related industry experience.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management or fleet operations.

· Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and relationship building.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Transportation Safety Experience

· Experience with fleet management software and logistics tracking systems.

· Previous experience in a leadership role within the transportation industry.

· Previous experience in budget management and P&L monitoring.

Responsibilities:

· Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations and safety standards.

· Oversee fleet maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.

· Lead and mentor a team of drivers, supervisors, DOT contacts, and logistics personnel, promoting a culture of teamwork and accountability.

· Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of transportation services.

· Work with local and corporate partners to ensure budget compliance and saving opportunities.

Skills:

The required skills in fleet/personnel management and transportation management are essential for ensuring that all vehicles and employees are operating efficiently and in compliance with regulations. Knowledge of DOT contracts is critical for maintaining safety standards and avoiding penalties, which directly impacts the terminal's reputation and operational success.

Skills in logistics management enable the supervisor to optimize routes and schedules, ensuring timely deliveries and customer satisfaction. Operations management skills are utilized to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity within the terminal. Preferred skills, such as experience with fleet management software, team support and management, enhance the ability to analyze data, costs, and make informed decisions that drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Certifications required:

· Ability to pass SSP DOT on-the-job training

· Ability to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

· TIM’s Instructor Certification (Willing to Obtain)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
