Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding, and collections. This role is essential in ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement for services provided, while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to facilitate the billing process.

Responsibilities

• Review and process patient accounts for billing accuracy
• Utilize DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes to ensure proper billing
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims
• Conduct medical collections as necessary, including contacting patients regarding unpaid bills
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in EMR and EHR systems
• Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies or issues
• Stay updated on medical terminology and coding guidelines to ensure compliance
• Assist in the training of new staff on medical billing procedures as needed

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or collections
• Familiarity with DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and general medical terminology
• Experience with EMR and EHR systems is highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients and healthcare providers
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred
