Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and food handlers, ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality food production
- Develop innovative menus that align with current culinary trends and meet dietary requirements, including special dietary accommodations
- Oversee food safety protocols and maintain compliance with health regulations to ensure a safe dining environment for all guests
- Manage inventory control and ordering processes to minimize waste while ensuring the availability of fresh ingredients for menu items
- Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with attention to detail in presentation and timing
- Supervise food preparation activities, ensuring consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation across all dishes
- Oversee shift management, including scheduling staff rotations and managing workload distribution during busy periods
- Implement training programs to enhance team skills in food handling, cooking techniques, and customer service standards
- Collaborate with restaurant management on menu planning, pricing strategies, and service improvements to maximize guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fine dining environments with strong culinary skills and a passion for innovative cuisine
- Extensive banquet experience with the ability to manage large-scale food production for events
- Supervising experience leading kitchen teams in fast-paced settings; demonstrated leadership qualities essential for team motivation and development
- Strong background in food safety practices and dietary department standards
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and inventory control procedures
- Skilled in food preparation techniques across various cuisines; proficiency in catering and restaurant service management
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Experience in menu planning, shift management, and kitchen operations within the food industry
- Familiarity with hospitality standards related to food handling, serving, bartending (if applicable), and overall restaurant experience
